And since I don't have all day, I'll write about two movies that I want to give props to in this post. It's not as fun saying a movie sucks. Plus, I don't have any pictures of "one-and-a-half stars", or "two-and-a-half stars", so sorry 'House Bunny', and 'Mamma Mia'. At least you were mentioned.
I'll be starting with the... interesting world of 'Twilight'.
This movie, which came out in November, has slowly but surely gained some fans...and lost some. Many negative viewers have said it doesn't go by the book, others say the actors were HORRID. I, however, have no opinion. And that's my way of saying the movie was okay. I think that the casting of Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan was not perfect, but if you've read the novel, wouldn't you agree that there aren't many actresses in the whole freaking world who could do the part the tiniest bit of justice? Bella is so incredibly bland and uninteresting--most actresses need too much attention to pull that off. At least she tried, you know? And as for the "disappointing" casting of Robert Pattinson as Edward, I thought looks had nothing to do with it. Meaning, as far as looks are concerned he's absolutely good-looking (in my opinion), but maybe not the gorgeous Edward we all pictured. Look, I know there are some serious Gaspard fans out there, and I get that he is also quite talented. Perhaps FAR more talented. I don't know. Yet NO HUMAN ON EARTH can be Edward, so cool it you guys.
Casting aside, the Overview is this:
Twilight is a romantic-fantasy film directed by Catherine Hardwicke and based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer. The film stars Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan, a seventeen-year-old, who falls in love with Edward Cullen, as played by Robert Pattinson. Later Edward turns out to be a vampire, and the trouble starts when Bella is with his family in a field, watching the vampires play baseball. That is where they come across vampires James, Victoria, and Laurent. James and his cronies are not like Edward's family in the sense that they eat humans, unlike the Cullen's "vegetarian" diet of animals. James wants Bella as an afternoon snack, and Edward and his family do whatever they can to protect her. The film was primarily shot in Washington and Oregon during the winter and spring of 2008. Twilight was released in theaters on November 21, 2008, and grossed $35.7 million on its opening day, which is crazy, when you think about it.
And the soundtrack was released on November 4, 2008.
I give it about 3 stars. It was a hilarious movie, but an average adaptation of the book. The book itself was so poorly written anyway, what good could possibly come of it?
THE DARK KNIGHT
"The Dark Knight is a 2008 American superhero film directed and co-written by Christopher Nolan."-Wikipedia
I disagree a bit with that statement. I think that Batman isn't an average "superhero" but something more. He isn't out there because he has powers or anything of that nature, he's out there because (according to origanal Batman movie legend) the Joker shot and killed his parents.
The Batman has a dark side, which may be why the film is called 'The Dark Knight'. Did you catch the sarcasm oozing from that obvious sentence? If not, read another blog.
"Based on the DC Comics character Batman, the film is part of Nolan's Batman film series and a sequel to 2005's Batman Begins. Christian Bale reprises the lead role. The film introduces two classic Batman villains to Nolan's series: the Joker (Heath Ledger) and Harvey "Two-Face" Dent (Aaron Eckhart). The Joker's identity is left a mystery in the film, while Two-Face's transformation from heroic district attorney to disfigured killer is presented fully. Nolan's inspiration for the film was the Joker's comic book debut in 1940, and the 1996 series The Long Halloween, which retold Two-Face's origin. The Dark Knight was filmed primarily in Chicago, as well as in several other locations in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong. Nolan used an IMAX camera to film some sequences, including the Joker's first appearance in the film.
On January 22, 2008, after he had completed filming The Dark Knight, Ledger died of a sleeping pill overdose. The film was released on July 16, 2008 in Australia, on July 18, 2008 in North America, and on July 24, 2008 in the United Kingdom. Prior to its box office debut in North America, record numbers of advance tickets were sold for The Dark Knight. It was greeted with extremely positive reviews upon release, and became the second film ever to earn more than $500 million at the United States box office, setting numerous other records in the process."

I give it four-and-a-half stars. (no image to support).
There you have it. I thought the movie was fantastic, and Heath Ledger was absolutely brilliant.
And it made so much money that 'Twilight' looks like it has the popularity of the complete crap movie, 'Picture This', which stars Ashley Tisdale. Better luck next time, Sharpay.
That just about sums it all up. Thank you for reading!
